What We Want
We want manuscripts of about 300 pages from new voices in speculative and dark southern fiction. Authors should be willing to promote their work up to and after publication. Arkansas Traveller Press cannot afford extensive promotional activities any more than larger publishers can. It is sad, but a reality of modern publishing that only the biggest best-seller get the promotion bucks. Unlike larger publishers, we pay a higher royalty for your efforts.
Currently, our focus is on adventurous Southern-related science fiction, fantasy, and dark fantasy. We will also consider Steampunk, traditional Southern fiction, and nonfiction about Southern subjects. We look for exciting tales about self-reliant characters who use wit and skill to overcome adversity. Memorable characters and strong themes on the importance of tradition, faith, and liberty are a plus.
Make something happen. We don’t publish character studies. Write as if you are personally telling your story to a friend.
Save some time. Read "What We Don't Want."
